Late afternoon today: adult Yellow-Legged Gull (appeared totally white-headed, but probably because of my distance from it, so possibly the same bird as seen recently). It drifted in to East Bay with other gulls due to a few late boats. By the time I'd walked from Sorrowcow to nr East Bay for a closer look I couldn't relocate it.
Adult Mediterranean Gull 231 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls 2 adult Great Black-Backed Gulls just several Herring, didn't count Common Gulls but probably less than 100 approx 8200 Black-Headed Gulls (still displaying their peculiar habit of occurring only in exact multiples of 100
330 Lapwing came up off the spit 3 Wigeon at least 46 Magpies roosted on south side of Flash

the boats will stop the pattern on saturday, don't be supprised if it doasn't end up in rammies,or even under the main car park at the east end,as that was always a favorite for savs in the past, almost every bird at the west end ,flys into rammies when the yachts come out at the weekends,so don't panic if you don't see it at the west end, just have a mooch and find it yourself, its much more fun that way

It was still there at 2.15 when myself and 2 other birders saw it closer to Rammies side of the west end coming in fairly close. It did travel far under water and wasn't up for long! Perhaps when it seems to go missing it just cross over from one side to the other but sticks to a regular pattern and repeats the process. Steve

Also nice to meet you Keith in the newest hide.
Only the usual around, but a lot of GCG's and Shovelers. Also a Peregrine on the scrape from Horrocks

Yes Jon that was roughly the same pattern of behaviour that I noted this morning from where I was on the opposite side to where you were watching - it also came towards the centre of the water on its way to the far-end reeds - strange.

Slavonian Grebe still showing well between 11.45am and 12.15pm. On the two occasions I've been - yesterday with John Tymon and today with John Lyons - it has come as close as a few metres from the edge of the green field which is on the south side. It seems to enjoy a sortie towards the yacht club before returning and then disappearing for up to 30 mins near the reeds at the far end. It then repeats the whole process. It did this three times yesterday and twice today.

slav was still there at 4.30 pm,it was oblivious to myself and john taverner, and swam up to us about 3 times, and didn't seem bothered about people at allbut i don't think it will stay in that area long as it was harrassed all the time by the 2 adult great cresteds who are still feeding a big young un,and everytime it dived they dived after it,so if its not in that area in the morning my guess would be it will end up further towards the yaught clubsgood luck its a beltin little bird
