4 Hobbies at Sinderland again this afternoon. There seems to be 3 that are always together and a 4th (juvenile) that stays apart from them. A couple of times today, I had the lone juvenile perched in the dead tree, while the other 3 flew around together, often at great height.
Good raptor day, despite high wind and rain. As well as the Hobbies, a Peregrine drifting over field 4, a Sparrowhawk, 3 Kestrels and 4 Buzzards.
Plus Great Spotted Woodpecker, Jay, few House Martins and good numbers of Swallows, especially over field 7 and the extreme Sale end of the Moss

Just finished the BBS for Carrington Moss, highlights were; Female Whinchat - F27 Lesser Whitethroat; one just outside the entrance to MUFC training facility and one near the stream at Birch House Farm (I haven't had Lesser's on the Moss for many a year). Single Tree Sparrow in F60 In general Grey Partridge numbers up but, as reported elsewhere, warbler numbers down (only one Willow Warbler recorded).
It looks as if it was field No. 1 (which it was in a birding context as well). I forgot to mention that the grey partridge was a pair (or is it were a pair)?
I don't know the field numbers here, but they were all in or near to the big ploughed field at the North west end (next to the obsolete rail line).
