First a big Thanks to Rob Creek for his supportive Messages wrt my previous post...much appreciated
Irlam Moss a Grey Partridge Count for the farmer...those found survive I believe because the farmer puts out pheasant feeders which in my opinion is ironic considering the 'farming' methods he has adopted have seen off most other farmland species....

Hi Dave, if theyd said that to me the red mist wouldve descended Im afraid. On the basis you told them they shouldnt be on the field, my assumption would be that it is private land on that part of the moss, or are the dog owners assuming its open access land in which case the owner should still have his dog on a lead from 1st March to 31st July in order to protect ground nesting birds?
Either way, ill informed dog owners or those that choose to disrespect the proper conduct of dog ownership would do well to familiarise themselves with the fact that this is on .GOV, its the law, it applies to them!
Nothing against dog owners, Ive had a Retriever/Collie cross, a Pit Bull Staff cross, and my partner has a Staffy now.
7 Lapwing being frightened off their nests by people from a nearby dog centre who now roam these fields!
(a recent 'chat' to a dog walker who was wandering another field (on chat moss) in which his dog was running about went something like this...sorry you are not allowed on this field and your dog should be on a lead near ground nesting birds....his reply 'what is the use of a dog on a lead'......)

First a big Thanks to Rob Creek for his supportive Messages wrt my previous post...much appreciated
Irlam Moss a Grey Partridge Count for the farmer...those found survive I believe because the farmer puts out pheasant feeders which in my opinion is ironic considering the 'farming' methods he has adopted have seen off most other farmland species....

if theyd said that to me the red mist wouldve descended Im afraid.
