I think that was me John, I remember telling Charlie about them. It was a very windy evening and I was on the back footpath between Bunting and Teal Hide when they flew over. If you watch woodies and stock doves coming in to roost in winter, on calm evenings they'll come in high and drop into the trees in dribs and drabs. Whereas when it's windy they generally come in over a much shorter period, often in considerable flocks. Had a quick look at my records and can't find the incident I told Charlie about right now but a couple of things I did notice - on 6th December 2008 I watched 85 stock doves (and 90 woodies) come in to roost opposite New Hide, and on 25th Feb 2009 I had a flock of 30+ stock doves over as I walked back to the car park.
