Very good views of Ring- Necked Duck(DRAKE) This bird appeared to match all the Collins criteria including the thin Browny Maroon ring round its neck. Swimming up and down East Bay about 25 yards out (sometimes closer). Up to my departure at 3pm. Nice to meet John Parkinson, Andy Makin, Charlie Owen, etc.

Concerning Ring-necked Duck; - I am tempted to breeze down on Tues morning if it is still present, so any early Tuesday update (positive or negative) would be greatly appreciated please. I have not birded in Gr. Man in month of April for about 19/20 years, so am basically inclined to come down (I just needed a good excuse!).

late one for yesterday-and I know it seems mad but An adult snow goose flew in at 1.30 struggled to the point seemed knackered, and rested on the end of the spit, myself and charlie owen observed it from canal side of rammies, and i got a few pics (sent to ian)by the time we strolled around to horrocks hide 30 mins later it could not be located .so possibly flew off again-so worth a look out,and obviously its origin unknown, but theres only ever been one previous wild county record,so keep an eye out for it as my pics are pretty poor, although showing the correct wing pattern etc
Pleasure to meet you both, surprised we've not bumped into each other before now seeing as we're local to one another, having said that, i haven't really had much chance to get out so far this year.
My year list is looking very sad at the moment.
