Afternoon/evening visit highlights. 50 Pink footed geese in 2 Skeins West. 1 Great white Egret. 1 Pintail. 20+ Teal. 6 Shoveler. 2 Swallows. 35 House Martins. Cheers Steven.
Great Egret this afternoon at the creek. It flew into the marsh and then back to the creek, before returning to the marsh as I left at about 6 pm. Photos taken whilst it was in the creek, where it showed very well.
1 Spotted Flycatcher in trees below Crow Trees Farm.
1 Water Rail along the canal.

This morning with Simon Johnson a Ruddy Shelduck flew east with 5 Cormorants at 7.55am. Also moving were 300 Swallows, singles of Tree Pipit, Yellow Wagtail and Wigeon all south. 12 Shoveler and a Little Grebe on the reservoir.

Morning visit 6th September was a morning for Duck movement with Ian C & Paul highlights 3 Pintail a single was joined by 2 later on and then flew off west shortly after. 5 Wigeon. 3 Shelduck circled before flying west. 9 Teal. 7 Shoveler. 1 Goosander seen by Paul earlier. Gadwall,Tufted Duck, Mallard Meadow pipits. Skylark heard in the Goyt. Swallows & Sand Martins heading south
Another short vsit, and had to abandon half way on my rounds..
Could'nt see the dunlin and Ringed plover from yesterday, but then again, the visit was only brief and they could easily be hidden by the vegitation...

Unfortinatly, I could only spend an hour doing my rounds, (but at least I managed to get out.)

A much quieter morning, though I could only spare time for a shortened visit.
Highlights include:
Teal Snipe Grey wagtail Sparrowhawk (which gave a spectacular chase to a swallow, the swallow twist and turned sharply with loop the loops,and the sparrowhawk followed 100% in it's tracks as if they were on railway tracks) He gave up after 15 seconds.

Great white egret still present, flew from the marsh to the creek and back a few times in the two hours I was there.
It was roosting with the herons in the Goyt when I left.

Also 1 Buzzard and 1 Kestrel.
