Both Long-tailed Ducks still present this morning, 1 on No1 the other on No2. Also 7 Pochard 4 Shoveler 2 Teal 5 Snipe 1 Peregrine, superb adult male making multiple attempts to take an amazingly evasive Lapwing. The Peregrine gave up after a while and rested on the bank on No1 reser. 1 Sparrowhawk

Had a very quick response from yesterdays sighting of a Black-headed Gull with Yellow ring T65W
If the page was translated correctly
Ringed as an adult on 19th May 2017 at Janikowo Poland, about 140 miles south of Gdansk

The Long-tailed Duck and Red-breasted Merganser present on No2 this morning
Also noted this morning a colour ringed Herring Gull Yellow Y106, it was noted here in early January this year. Info as posted by Pete W at that time, ringed near York in Oct 2015 and seen a few times since then in the East Manchester area.

Long-tailed Duck spending most of its time under water in the middle of no2. This bird was seen to fly in on Wednesday but didn't give itself up for confirmation of ID until this morning. Found by another site regular. Also present today 10 Common Scoter A Red-breasted Merganser 4 Shoveler 4 Teal 2 Wigeon 2 Snipe Along with the Great White Egret a Green Sandpiper and Little Egret have also been seen this week.

In the morning, there were 2 x 1 swallows on passage, a skylark was leaving the site as I arrived, 2 reed buntings (starting to build up!!), and a distant buzzard. Glad to read that the garganey is elusive. I can feel better about not seeing it! Also, I looked at quite a lot of meadow pipits 10+, so the rock might have been where I wasn't. That's the thing about here. It's a big site!

Long Tailed Duck on number 2 reservoir. Sandpiper species flew in at 14.15,circled and dropped into number 1. Probably Common, certainly not Green.

Not great on Gulls but a possible 1st winter Caspian came into number 1 at 14.45. Worth a scan if anyone's around tomorrow morning.
