also 2 oyster catcher later else where 2 dabchick heard a few chiffchaff jay pheasant and east of crow tree farm a character in heavy camoflage flushed from the vegatation by me passing by with carrying what looked like a rifle in a large camoflage case and uttered the sentance 'this is the footpath aint it.' I replied that it was and discovered further on a dead fox, but to be fair had been dead a day at least. I shouted an obscenaty. beware of men in camoflage. That twice this year I have seen such characters.

Story in Bury Times The Railway level crossing is prone to breakdown for 7 hours to several days. The lady in the stables can't get to work. Be warned if you park on Benies or canal. There also going to be a full calender of sailing and a sponsered wal or run from the sailing club in the near future.

A Nuthatch this morning in Beech trees and Hawthorns by Old Hall Farm at 11am, a site rarity(info Peter Baron).
I had 3 Little Ringed & 2 Ringed plovers, 40 Mipits, 13 Linnet, 2 Swallow, 2 Sand Martin earlier this am.

Great to meet Paul and Sue and Ian C this morning - some good company and chat as well as excellent views of the Rock Pipit.
Only other sighting I had was of 3 Ringed Plover that flew in at 8.38 and stopped on the shoreline in front of the boathouse for about 10 mins.

Rock Pipit still present at 5.30, but difficult to locate (took me 30 mins and only found it when it flew round the corner past me - I must have walked past it!) Only had it for a minute before it flew back round the corner and I couldn't relocate it. It had started to rain heavily and was VERY cold and windy!
No sign of any Shelduck, but there were 2 Gadwall on the res. Also a dozen or so Meadow Pipits around wader point and 1 Oystercatcher.
