Cheers Jamie, still cant believe what an amazing bird to actually find on the quays Back to the usual birds today after work with at least 38 mute swans & just 3 swallow, 4 sand martin.

just like james c50 sand martin, several of them landing on the ground & whizzing around my head & legs 3 whitethroat 1 blackcap 2 chiffchaff 2 willow warbler 3 lapwing 2 bullfinch I am going to mention this anyway but I could easily just be hearing things but thought I heard some distant reeling of a grasshopper warbler, only heard once though

10am. Canada goose on eggs and chiffchaff singing near Trafford bridge. Pair of lapwings in courtship flight over warehouses on Ordsall Lane. Three sand martins near Hulme bridge.

Just finished shopping at Booth's, when a Peregrine flew over, carrying a very large prey item. Both of us thought it was a rat ! Didn't have time to get the bins on it. Peregrine could barely fly as it travelled west, presumably to some high-rise roof.
