I'm cheating slightly, as my route was in the opposite direction to the title of this thread, by bike.
4:30 to 5:00 Wednesday 26th March.
3 Grey Wagtails 10 Canada Geese 10+ Mallard 6 Goosander (all redheads) 2 Chiffchaff 3 Buzzards (in the air together, near Abney Hall)
Pick of the bunch was a Kingfisher sitting in branches under the bridge near the Woolpack, before heading rapidly downstream. What a treat! Having known what this stretch of river looked like 40+ years ago, I could never have believed that I'd see a Kingfisher so close to the old industrial centre of Stockport.

But the highlight of the weekend was a buzzard pursuing a crow this afternoon. The crow seemed to be holding its own!
