Ian,
The webcam will be up and running again alongside the Date with Nature project in the city centre in April. You will be able to view it on the RSPB webpage at
The videostream which updates once a minute is available to view now at
www.manchesterdda.net/webcams/peregrines/
Hope that helps and if you have any other questions, just ask!

The female (or one of them ) seems to have spent a lot of time shifting old pigeon bones to the side of the box and making a scrape in the gravel.

The webcam view is currently being altered to reduce its panoramic view, which in our opinion allowed the nest site to be too easily identified.
I would also ask posters to be careful when using the term 'the nest site' in their posts as this leads to unnecessary interest in where it is. Note, no matter who may contact you privately for details of the nest site, they should not be released. Should you be contacted for such details please let me know.

It was a trick of the light!
Today a pair of Peregrine very active in the City Centre, lots of coming and going, visits to the nest box and also some very playful hunting that looks more like courtship behaviour than serious attempts to catch anything.

One bird has taken (back?) to the E of Arndale, and another has taken to roosting on the Salford side of the Lowry hotel.
I've seen soe fairly poor chases of pigeons this week from presumably young birds who don't seem to have cottoned on to getting high and gaining speed through diving. On a level chase the pigeons can keep ahead!
