Details for the Sacred Ibis location as seen in the images (bird not seen here since though):
It was most regularly seen was feeding by a stream on the watermeadows between Dunham and Little Bollington (you can see the stream best from the bank next to the estate deliveries road in the park or fairly well on the path down to Little Bollington). The particular images were taken up near the Estate Yard (towards the A56) but it was only seen there for one day before moving to the water meadows.

It's probably academic as I doubt it's still there, at least in that exact location. There's a few farms by the river down there, and it seems to me that the shot is by the river as it looks like a drop near one of the pictures - that's stating the obvious I know!

The Sacred Ibis is not wing-tagged (my misinterpretation of the observers use of 'tagged' for a leg ring) and is metal ringed on the left tarsus.

I have been in the park twice this morning first time 07.45 to 09.00 ish before I became aware of the reported Ibis sighting. I always check the stream area towards Little Bollington and I didn't see the bird then. Subsequently John Barber called me when I was still out and I nipped back and walked along the Bollin behind the park still no sign between about 11.30 and 13.00. Spoke to the rangers in reception and as far as they know it had been on or around the stream since Tuesday afternoon, where I first checked, but not reported this morning.

An observer of this Sacred Ibis contacted me yesterday and sent me a photo this morning. It apparently favours the western side of the park towards Little Bollington.
Frankly, they're all escapes in the UK and do not form any part of the official BOU British List other than on category E, which is as bad as escape/captive status gets Either way this particular Dunham bird is apparently wing-tagged so if anyone manages some details I'd be interested to receive them.

The area to look is up the main drive away from the house making Island Pool, tree and bench on the right about 200 m up the drive. Good luck.

In the park 06.45 - 07.30, shower dodging - 2 Spotted Flycatchers on and around the usual perching tree near Island pool. One was obligingly sitting right on the top bare branch when I first arrived
There was quite a lot of activity around the Heronry but difficult to tell how many nests are occupied.

A possible Lesser Spotted Woodpecker flew over the road as I was driving past Dunham Massey Park tonight at 5.45pm. It was small, black and white barring on wings and seemed to 'stick' to the tree trunk of the tree it flew into. It flew from the small wooded area that used to be a small car park many years ago to a tree near the entrance to the house opposite on the Massey side of the road but not actually in the park itself near the white style. I certainly couldnt be 100% sure as I couldn't stop and I didn't have my binoculars with me and it was a very fleeting glimpse. May be worth checking this area if anyone is birding around the park over the next few days. I seem to remember Henry Cook reporting on this thread hearing a LS Woodpecker in this area last spring.
