A special day....
Evening visit 1st w Turtle Dove - seen from about 1805 to 1815 on the road incline from the lower to upper resvr - first I've seen in the UK for years! Nearly ran over it in the car! Watched on the fence, wall and road before it lifted into the trees/bushes along the road after being spooked by a motorbike. Not seen after unfortunately - fingers crossed for tomorrow. 2 stock doves over

A second vist, 1515-1700 with Andy Platt. After erecting a new feeder table we did a circuit of both reservoirs.

Foggy on the top reservoir when I arrived and was greeted by birds everywhere!
In anticipation, searched the woods behind Low Bank which was bird less! Went back to where all the 'action' was but the fog had lifted and so had the birds!

2 ad Oystercatcher and 3 young doing well with another pair over. 3 Great Crested Grebe Tufted Duck 35 Mallard including 7 ducklings 50+ Canada Goose with various aged young An impressive flock of 4-500 Starling, mostly juveniles including the 1 surviving albino bird. 3 Grey Heron Goldfinch Pied Wagtail inc fledged young Meadow Pipits Skylarks Redshank 4 Coot inc 2 small young.
Albino Starling with c200 starling, mainly juveniles. There were 3 albino Starlings on 31/5 but it looks like only the one has survived.
