Only 2 green sand and 2 snipe on beds this am along with 26 teal but lots of passerines in the bushes! Best of these my first redstart (a juv) at this site on the fence bordering the football pitch at northwest corner of site, showing well until disturbed by dogs then went into trees more and not seen again, also 2 spotted flycatchers along glaze, again in northwest corner. Garden warbler, 2 lesser whitethroat, and c. 20 willow warbler around site and single wheatear on side of concrete tanks. Seems that the site is getting better for passerines at the expense of waders!

Late report from Monday 15th (7.32am to 8.15am) A pair of Shoveler on the big pool were a species I hadn't recorded here before (doubtless the regulars will have of course). As quiet as I've seen it here, though plenty of Chiffchaffs in song, at least 10/11, also 3 Willow Warblers and a single Blackcap noted, but no hirundines, though I was perhaps out and about too early.
