There was a male Bullfinch on the ground on the far side of the road, didn't appear to be injured but it couldn't/wouldn't fly, maybe stunned by something. It gradually became more mobile, I thought it had flown off but it was still there when I got back to the car so I don't hold out much hope of it ultimately surviving - see photo
On the water (of note)...

Had a wander here today, nice afternoon too,song thrush, redwing, long tailed tit, blue tit, great tit,house sparrow, starling, Robin, sparrowhawk wren,jay,blackbird, goldfinch, greenfinch, peregrine,. on the water ,mallard ,teal ,goosander, tufted duck, coot ,black headed gull (1 with full summer cap) lesser black backed gull, canada goose ,mute swan, little egret ,great crested grebe, at 3 15pm around 200 Canada geese touched down at the car park end of res.
