This evening, up to 8.05. Sunny.
Redstart....2 including one male. I watched these two flitting about, often together, catching the low sun from the west. Location was in a small clump of trees/hedge just to the right of the copse on the southern hill, and above and often on, the tangle of fence posts ( at least12 posts very close together?) Viewed from footpath. Buzzard....1 Kestrel...1 Common Sandpiper....1 Starlings...c50 flock. Swallow....40+ Lapwing....18 Tufted Duck....7 Pied Wagtail...c12 Grey Heron....1 Gadwall present on arrival, but could not be relocated. Possibly due to low sun.

This pm up to 3.15. Fine and breezy.
Lapwing ...16 ( 14 flying and 2 settled on the SW shore.) Little Ringed Plover....1 Common Sandpiper.... 4 Oystercatcher....1 Kingfisher....1 Greenfinch...1f Reed Bunting...2 ..m and f Tufted Duck... 3 female all showing 'scauplike' white bill base. Juvenile Pied Wagtails......8+ 1 male adult. Grey Heron....1 Good to meet up with Dave Broome; he had earlier seen the Juvenile Redstart, in and around the large round clump of willows on the SE shoreline. Dave also heard a Willow Tit.

Grey Wagtail...1 juv. Swallows ....35 on wire at Seddon Fold. Reed Bunting....2 including...1 juv. Tufted duck...4 comprising fem+ 1 big chick and 2 maturing juveniles. Little Ringed Plover....10 Ringed Plover.....1 Common Sandpiper....5 At 8.30 a new wader dropped in and was still present on leaving. I have this as a juvenile Golden Plover, but I would welcome a second opinion. Grey Heron....1 adult Great Crested Grebe... at least one first summer present.

Grey Wagtail....1 juvenile. Grey Heron...2 juveniles. Robin....1 juvenile Pied Wagtail...4 juveniles+ 1 adult. Little Ringed Plover......5 Greenshank....1 Common Sandpiper....1 Song Thrush...1 heard by dam. Farmer Stan has seen a male Redstart near the farm, and a possible female Redstart on Lock Lane, this week.
Common Terns....2 Tufted Duck... The female was confirmed with one chick left, out of the 5. Common Sandpiper....3 at least, including 1 juvenile. Ringed Plover....1 juvenile Little Ringed Plover......7 Swift....1 Grey Heron...2 Pied Wagtail....4 juveniles + 1 adult. Whitethroat still in song by the gate, but heard only this time.
