Only real thing of note this morning was a Yellow Wagtail that was amongst the cows in the field next to Redstart hedge while me and Paul Wilson waited for the Redstarts, but unfortunately no sign of any. Also following the cows were lots of Swallows and House Martins picking off plenty of flies.
Single Teal on the Res and three juvenile Bullfinch was nice.

Certainly a very good day at Elton today. Interesting that you had 2 male Redstarts in that hedge Keith, I certainly had 4 females and one male, and with a further pair present at Crow Trees Farm, potentially 8 birds today! Stephen also showed me the photo of the odd looking male Redstart from yesterday, incredible amount of white on the throat. This male was with a female by bridge 19 near the canal but no sign of them today. So with last weeks juvenile and Stephens pair from yesterday, probably 11 Redstarts in the last week.
A few other bits with Simon Johnson and Stephen Burke included -
Single Swift south 10 House Martin south Single Spotted Flycatcher in hedge near pumphouse also Garden Warbler, two female Blackcap. Dunlin wader point 2 Black-tailed Godwit briefy wader point (SB) 2 Raven giving the local Peregrine a hard time.

Edit: Also of note - 15 Lapwings flew over and headed due East - then, after I had circuited, another group, perhaps the same, returned, this time it was double in size with about 30-35 birds. Then the heavens opened so I proceeded to get the binos in the bag quick, so not sure where the Lapwings went.
