I only managed 6 Little Ringed Plovers this morning but I did see 8 Waxwings which flew low north-east over the field side at 7.15am. Also over a single Rook and a steady passage of 40 Meadow Pipits north. I counted 59 Herring Gulls and 26 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 5 Goldeneye. We are certainly on for the latest date for returning Sand Martins for about the last 20 years, even the Chiffchaff from the 31st March has left.

Good morning today with a total species count of 58 for me (i didn't manage Chiffchaff). Best for a long while. To add: 4 Oystercatchers, Sparrowhawk and single Curlew over car park whilst getting ready to leave!
Also, non-birding highlight was see two scroats on a motorbike not quite managing to go in a straight line down the lane and attempting to knock down a few trees in the hedgerow. No crash helmets (of course) but they didn't hit the trees quite hard enough to do any serious damage to either themselves or the bike (unfortunately).
