20 Whooper Swan flew east at around 8.55am

4 knot flew east/ se this morning
1100+ Redwing west/sw
200 Pink-footed Geese east

Song Thrush heard over at 21.30 hours

105 Swallow South this afternoon, my little nephew who's just turned one took interest in me bird watching and wanted to be picked up to see the birds a bit closer he then pointed to the sky above us and a juvenile Peregrine was circling! top spot!

swifts were streaming south in either small tight flocks really motoring or long lines of birds steadily moving. The largest flock was 460

490 Swift moved south 8.30-10 am

Ringtail Hen Harrier circled over Prestwich and was mobbed by a sparrowhawk before carrying on west

A woodcock was seen flying over the houses in a WNW direction this morning which assume this must have been disturbed from somewhere

8,000 Redwing moved sw/w during this time - i think the strong wind was pushing them low and they where coming over tree top/pylon height

52 Pink-footed geese east at 9.05 (prob pennington birds) 75 east at 9.25 these went/lost into low cloud and 53 flew sw at 10.45

Hi Simon,

I saw the 53 pink feet moving sw, they went directly over my house above me when i was putting some nappies out to dry, bonus birding!?

Had a bit of vis mig sat morning too, when also putting washing out, 30+ meadow pipits, 5 chaffinch and 2 grey wags!?

For those who don't know, i'm down the road on milton road, prestwich.

30+ Swift flying around the roof at about 4pm

Peregrine flew over mid afternoon

Just had a White winged gull fly over my flat towards Pilsworth tip

Poss Glaucous on size but went over before could get bins.

100's of Gulls have been heading that direction all morning!

a staggering 34 Skeins of pinkfeet flew over 33 of which se and 1 nw, approx 4,000+ birds involved and these ranged from being right over head to over Manchester Airport.

approx 420 Black-headed Gulls feeding above the flat some very hig up with at least 20 Swift all went S/SW at around 4pm

female towards heaton park and 2 males carrying prey towards prestwich forest/clough - one going to each end.

there was a lot of noise from a group of Lesser black-baked gulls over the apartment this evening.

Turned out a Peregrine had taken one and was sat plucking it on our roof sat only a few feet away from the window! closet i have ever been to a Peregine.

Looked to be an immature bird - the head looked almost adult like but the body/wings still brown
